Current Liberian President, Ellen Sirleaf once stated that “If your Dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough.” That is how Founder and Chairman of CTG Development Company, Derrick Wallace, began the process of producing the Pinnacle.

“Pinnacle was a dream I had that I turned into a vision. It started off as simple student housing but evolved into a development that raised doubts for many parties involved. However, I didn’t let those doubts deter me from pursuing this project. I felt this HBCU deserved Pinnacle and I know the students need it. You see, Pinnacle is more than just another development project. It is an opportunity for community revitalization.” Mr. Wallace stated.

Pinnacle is designed to coalesce the campus with the surrounding community. The individual components featured in the design were not only sought after from the University but needed to revitalize the surrounding community.

Pinnacle’s impact on campus

Pinnacle forms a living learning community on campus in which students are expected to utilize the facilities to aid in their overall experiences and college successes. Anchored by a stadium that radiates campus unity and pride, students will have plenty of opportunities for recreation, leisure, and personal development. The 35,000 seat, multi-purpose stadium creates an avenue to bring concerts, festivals, speakers, seminars, rallies, trade-shows, and more to the campus that students are sure to embrace. Surrounded by modern housing, students will have more options about where to live throughout their college career. The study areas, lounges, athletic facilities, and state-of-the-art technology will more than likely persuade more students to remain on campus. All of Pinnacle’s components are in a walkable distance, making this development a prime location for students to gather.

Pinnacle’s impact on the community

The neighboring community will see a surge of new opportunities with Pinnacle as well. The Development will create a mixed-use infrastructure that will feature housing and attract businesses to this central location. These businesses could include: barbershops & salons, retail, eateries, clinics, private practices, and more. Providing jobs to students and members of the surrounding community as well as a one stop location for various channels of leisure, shopping excursions, hang outs, etc. The multi-purpose stadium will solidify the Pinnacle as a destination location for members of the community. The stadium is expected to host several kind of events from sporting to concerts that will bring individuals from all over to the city. The stadium is also accented with a hotel and conference center for visiting professionals, campus affiliates, rival teams, locals, and the general public.

Pinnacle will be a game-changer and although the massive project raises speculations, Pinnacle is expected to be a catalyst for transformation for the surrounding community and HBCU’s alike. Pinnacle will push universities to dream big, go big, and make students excited to call their campus “Home”.
