Micah Stangebye Represents Kentucky State in 2023 Thunderbolt Invitational
Ariz. – Micah Stangebye finishes tied for 44th at the 2023 Thunderbolt Invitational
on the Sterling Grove Golf and Country Club in Surprise Arizona during the holiday break.
In the opening round he had three birdies to offset his three bogeys to finish with an even par 72.
On the front nine of the second he finished two-over-par (38) bouncing back on the back with two birdies to finish one-under-par (35). The strong back nine brought him in with a second around 73 to sit at one-over-par after two rounds.
In the final round the front side gave Stangebye a challenge finishing with a two-over-par (38). On the back nine a birdie on holes 12 and 17 sent home with a one-under-are 35 and a one-over-par 18 hole score of 73.
Stangebye finished the tournament two-over-par 218 and a tied for 44th finish. Jones Cooper of BYU won the tournament with a tournament total of 200 (-16).
