Maan I stay down the street from TSU... I'm not going there, but I CAN tell you that it is fun as HELL... parties everyday. The cheerleaders are off the hook... (I graduated from Booker T. Washington High School, and they teach us all their cheers and everything). The band is off the hook (their band, THE OCEAN OF SOUL, are mentors to our band, THE BABY OCEAN OF SOUL). It's lots of fun. I honestly have no idea where they are on an academic level, but they are mostly a party school from the outside looking in.

I know a lot of people who go to TSU, and to be honest, you'd most likely be better off going somewhere else. Now don't get me wrong, and education is a beautiful thing if you can get one, but there are certainly much better places to get one than TSU. I don't even know if they accredited. Yeah, they're a party school, but if that's the only reason you're going to college then...
Ike Hmpton Buaty already stated--STU is one bg party.
The graduation rate is roughly 13% in 5 years or something lik that. Go to Prairie View-- a party/academic institution-- if you wan to attend school in TX.
Houston is a short drive away...

I was going to go there before I got some sense and decided to go to J-State again. Well if you do go to TSU I hope u major in pharmacy or law because that's all they're really good for. The band is sorry and they lose your papers like as soon as you send them so keep copies. DO NOT stay in Greystone. That's the hood for real. It's a great school for whoever likes it, but I'm better than that so I had to move around. But...Good Luck!
Well as a freshman at PV, i can tell you that PVAMU would be a better place to go. I've visited TSU before I decided to come here and it's GHETTO. The buildings are raggedy and I think they ARE about to lose accreidation. Besides, like someone said before, Houston is only a short drive away.
I might go to Texas Southern I really can't decide...at first I was like no because everyone say how its in the ghetto and stuff but after I went to visit it didnt' seem that bad to me...its no worse then alot of other hbcu's that I have been to. As for the partying...college is what you make of it...its not where you go its what you do when you get there. You don't have to party all the time just because everyone else is doign it. People did tell me its not a good academic school but after I looked at all the successful people that graduated from there I figured I can do it too. Im not saying I am going there for sure but I might but maybe some people know better then me.
