WSSU= is a good school... their football team isnt that good but there band is nice...its nice small school, mostly females, closed campus, to ME the surrounding area is not really that bad... i think it has a great business school... they just built new dorms and a new technology lab i think...overall a nice school but kinda borin... my personal opinion NCAT= A very hype school... i used to be on there campus ALL the time, just for the hell of it...Homecomin is off the hook... great technology program... to ME their campus isnt really in the ghetto either.. its in downtown...everytime i go there i always have a problem with parkin, but that could be because im not supposed to be there lol... but anyway if NCAT wasnt so close to my home, i definitely woulda went there NCCU= Now this school is in the ghetto lol...I 4get what the school is known for... I think its Law... it has a closed campus i think but ppl are still able to come in... the campus looked nice tho... and i think they had some renovation done recently..

Yeah I heard NCCU is kinda ghetto. I have always heard that NC A&T was hype as hell too. I keep hearing that WSSU is nice and everything, but I never here nothing about the student life there...

Let me correct some of this stuff before you go create ill-formed perceptions of WSSU, A & T, and NCCU. . . Okay

WSSU has always had a good football program (eight CIAA titles). The current coach of Southern, Pete Richardson (2 titles) came from there as well as Bill Hayes (4 titles), the former coach of A & T. Richard Blount, the current coach has brought two additional CIAA championships back to Winston-Salem. Their band leaves something to be desired. Winston-Salem is known mainly for their health sciences curriculum (physical therapy, etc) and education. WSSU is majority women, about 2 to 1.

A & T's forte is engineering, graphic design and business. They are the most populous HBCU campus in NC and is the fourth largest in the country (FAMU, Howard, Southern). They have a very good band and good football tradition since the 80s. They once had a great basketball program that has fallen on hard times. A & T is one of the few HBCU's and few colleges in America which doesn't have a overwhelming gender gap. it's about 51 - 49 women to men and fluctuates.

Those same ghettos were once the black neighborhood. Most HBCU's including Howard, the AUC, TSU, and others were or are in the "ghetto". NCCU is a liberal arts institution, and is known for education, criminal justice, nursing, and music on the undergraduate level. It's known for education, law, library science and biotechnology on the graduate level. NCCU is about two to one women to men too. But there are 8 other colleges within 30 miles (Elon, NCSU, Duke, UNC, Shaw, St. Augustine, Meredith, Peace). All three schools have beautiful, brand-new dormitories, and new classroom buildings. All three schools have passionate fans of their athletics, and have great athletic tradition. All three schools have great alumni who raise the schools profile (Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, Ernie Barnes . . .etc). You should try to visit and see where you fit. . .

Was NCCU your first choice? What attracted you to NCCU?

When I hear about A&T I always hear the word family. Can the other two schools relate to that?

The family concept is at most HBCU's. . .

I'm currently trying to find a graduate school I wish to attend. While in NC last week I came across NCCU. The comments listed here have helped me immensely thanks.

I have a major dilemma: I've been accepted to both NC A&T and NCCU. I really like centrals business program and the fact that they're known for their law program, being that I plan to go onto law school. I haven't heard too much from other people about it though. So for someone who wants a nice school with nice campus, good dorms, a good busiess/law program and a decent tuition, which college should i choose?
