I wanna go back, but I don't wanna go back. My desire to just work and make $ is more than my desire to go back, but I want what's best for myself. I'm confused and don't know what to do.
i say go back, if you want to make more money in the future, especially if you had decent g.p.a before you left...finish it up before the neurons in your brain die...if it is a financial thing, get a loan that's how i'm paying for four years...

I wouldn't show my GPA to the homeless, and I've already got enough loan money as it is. Its like, i'm paying for nothing. I wanna try and go back, but im scared im gonna come up with the same results. I tried everything to keep my head above the water before i took a semester off (trust me when i tell you EVERYTHING). If i go back, there's no guarantee i'll do better, and i dont wanna waste precious money on something that just wont happen. I've tried everything from the "school shrinks", to getting help, to getting somebody else to take my tests and write my papers (desperate times=desperate measures). I dont know what to do.

but then again college is not for everyone. i'm sure there is something that you are very skilled at and can do something with it....
I think u should go back homie. True, in some cases, being in the media field, it isn't always critical to have a big name degree. Alot of times your work/resume speaks for itself. Plus, alot of peeps work their way up anyway. However, i think a degree allows u to be much more flexible and gives u more options as far as career choices are concerned. My intro to media production professor is a young cat, and he talked about how even with his B.A, when he went to LA...he could find NO work. It's just real competitive in media, and sometimes u not only need that degree, but the creditials & connections to really make SERIOUS doe. And i know that's what u want? Not those lil gettin by checks, but the REAL change.
When I dealt with my own fukk school demons. . .it seems to hit everyone around the first semester of their junior year; my advisor challenged me to the board game LIFE.
I thought it was stupid, because I was a smart **** 20 year old, who thought he knew something. She challenged me to take the "work" path and skip the college track. After 45 minutes and a lot of trash-talking, we finished the game. She took the college track and i became a salesperson.
She had almost twice as much money as I did. She changed jobs twice, while I had to stay as a salesperson. She proved to me through a board game that finishing college gives you:
1) More options
2) More lifetime salary
So me and my 140 IQ decided to stay in school. I don't know what the hell I was thinking. I make more now than my father, who was in the military. If we compare what my father made at my age, I double his salary. IF my mother hadn't returned to school (at the same time I was in school), I would currently make more than both of them combined.
So although college isn't for everyone, you should buckle down and try to make it work for you.
