IF IT FITS WEAR IT Posted on 10-08-2004

Hotep, Look around at our generation; most people have gotten into the habit of wearing clothes that don't fit. Either they are too big or extremely small. Nevertheless, too tight or to big it really doesn't matter. Now, I have concluded that the majority of our generation doesn't know their REAL Clothing size. We have guys who really wear 32 wearing 40 and ladies who wear 5 wearing 2!!!!! Listen, for those who know me, know that I am a really small man! I am 5'5/5'6 my weight jumps from about 128-135 depending on the season. The problem that I always encounter is people who don't wear their real size always say "MANNY you look nice but dang are you comfortable" Truly I wear a 28-30 waist and I buy depending on the brand I buy my size that doesn't make it look like I have **** in my pants. I always just say NO THEY FIT!!!! So, after saying all of that my point is Why do we feel the need to wear cloths that don't fit? People who don’t their real size will always look at those who wear the correct size as tight. Are The Cloths TIGHT OR RIGHT? It’s cute when you're young but MAN CAN WE GROW UP?

i mean like i agreed kinda with you...my thing is this....people are still young, its college not the business world(im a business major lol)if i wanna wear a lil baby tee outside then i can because im expressing my individuality and because i wanna have a lil bit of fun before i have to go into the real world and someone tells me "what to wear"....my mom in college wore punk gear, oversized and tight during the 80s and she always taught me to express myself fully before i enter the real world, even if i wanted to wear a tight mini skirt, and baby tee, its my perogative or a nice HUGE sweater with huge skateboarded baggy jeans...i mean im not hating on the individuals who wear suits everyday, or who have fitted clothes ....but to say "can we grow up people"....well im sorry ill grow up when I graduate because life is too short to be limiting something as free as fashion in college........i say as long as you got the body for it, and can work it well, go for it ....and as long as those same people you talk about know when to wear the fitteds and when to just wile out...such as going to class vs going to a job interview, then i see nothing wrong with it

Since I am 5'8" and under 120 lbs, thus, everything is saggy/baggy on me, however, I wear a belt with all my pants, jeans & jean shorts. I believe in not conforming and one should express their individuality tastefully, though. I am a Sean John/ K.Cole type, and like the European look, which influenced Puffy's line of clothing. Nevertheless, I feel just as comfortable in a jumpsuit/AF-1s or jeans. My boys are the opposite of me in style, but hey, that is what makes me, me--braids, twists or a fro and all. Loose, yeah--baggy/fitted, no; but do you and I will do me, as I really do not care what others think about my look or style. As far as women are concerned, I prefer them dressed tastefully.
