Asking 4 Howard Students' Opinion Posted on 01-15-2004
In Rod We Trust

I am in the process of tyring to transfer to Howard. The school I attend now is a good shcool, but is not what I want exactly. Well my mama said "It's easier to deal with the monster you know than the one you don't". So I've come here to ask your opinions of your shcool. I want to know everything you hate to everything you love. I want to know everything that I won't be able to read about or what a tour guide won't tell me. What benefits do you feel you get from going to a HBCU? Thank you. Your help is appreciated.

Well, speaking as a freshman, I dig it up here fa real. The school is pretty tight. When people think of Howard, they always wanna clown the school because of the neighborhood. I mean, it's not as bad as what people make it out to be. It's all about what kind of background you have and how your comfort zone is. The people here are really cool, for the most part. The Administration is crazy, so, watch out for that. The professors are cool, for the most part. Depending on where you're from, the weather is pretty serious (especially right now). But Howard is a tight school (just look at the alumni list). Home is pretty far from Howard, for me (seeing as though I'm from Birmingham, Alabama). But you'll do fine. I hope it works out well for you. Peace out, B P.S. Any questions, hit me up. Coolpoet318@aol.com

I’m in my first year at Howard and I have to say that I love it. I’ve met some real cool people since I’ve been here and from my own experiences, everyone I’ve crossed paths with has been very friendly and open, making the transition a lot easier than what I anticipated. The professors that I have/had are mad kool and I honestly feel like I’ve walked away with something in most of my classes. I’m in the School of Business and it took me a while to adjust to the “schedule” and standards they like to operate by, but it’s been well worth it so far. The cafeteria food can get kinda old, but when you’re hungry that’s wassup….you just want to eat.lol The administration will try to play you for a lame at times, but that’s common knowledge so they really don’t bother me anymore. I can HONESTLY say that I have no major complaints with Howard….the only thing I regret is not taking advantage of all the resources around campus first semester. There is so much more I could say, but that would take all day.lol If you have any questions or want to know more, just holla @ ya girl at PlatinumOne03@aol.com Take care and God bless!
