As much as rap stars talk about "keeping it real", remembering where they came from, why do they not give back to the area where they came from? As much money as the talk about spending on jewelry, 745s and alcohol, they could start a community resource pool.
The best investment is real estate.
Were hiphop moguls were to buy dilapidated real estate in their communites and bring them up to code, about the same cost as buying Hummer with custom interior and spinning rims, THAT would be improving the community and keeping it real. Just imagine if Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Juvenile, Chingy, Nelly, and Lil Jon started a real estate company and owned rental property
Hotep,
I will not just blame Entertainers I will also confront the issue that many black even those who live in the suburbs. I believe that we've run away from community support to individual gain.
It is upsetting to see our "HOODS" tacky. In Columbus it's not as bad as it once was, they've torn by many of the "PROJECTS" and replaced them with community housing; they are really nice.
Nevertheless, if you ride down 21st and Cleveland you'll see poverty at it best. Take a trip to the Westside (The Bottoms) and you'll be amazed at the beat up houses and apartments.
So, What if "BLACKS" took the interests in developing a Real Estate Company?
Would it make a difference, or would it cause more confusion?
Wealthy Blacks have a problem with Collaborations because the underlying problem is WHO GET"S THE MONEY?
Would be a great plan, but would need an tremendous amount of prayer and planning.
Prince... It would be a step toward "POWERNOMICS"
