Lol...I just decided to make a spinoff post in regards to that girl who asked about whites being at an HBCU. I wonder if I am the only person who feels this way, but I would like to make some friends of other ethnicities...Dont get me wrong, I LOVE attending an HBCU and being around my black people...but sometimes, I get tired of being around JUST n*ggas. I mean granted, I do see white folks in my classes and around campus but I just havent had the opportunity to make some good friends outside of my race...Like when I was at home...I had some white friends I was real tight with...and I kinda miss that. I wanna join the only multicultural sorority on campus, but you cant pledge a regular BGLO if you do...SO that kinda out the question...
But just curious to know if anyone could see where Im coming from with this...
One of my best friends in high school was Mexican-American and that was my girl. But I can't really relate to white girls or any other females of another race; just from experience.
I thought I wanted white friends.......UNTIL i came to a PWI...
For some reason I think every white person is callin me a **** in the back of they heads...
I cannot watch Higher Learning...or any movie where a white person is callin someone a ****....
Or I'm going to be on the 9 o clock news.... dammit i shoulda went to a HBCU

Well what happened to those friendships? Growing up, I've been cool with white people that I've gone to school with, but never became close friends with any of them, so I can't say I miss what I've never had, ya know? But what I wanna know is did you do like some folks do and go to a HBCU become "pro-black" and turn your back on "****" or did ya'll just go your separate ways for one reason or another. Fill a sistah in cuz whether a your friend is white or not, that has to be SOME reason why ya'll aren't tight anymore.

Oh no...the reason we arent tight isnt because we ended on bad terms, but because we grew apart and lost touch....and that aint just white friends...that was my black, and puerto rican friends....thats all

Aww poor baby. I'd be paranoid too. But I have been around white people all my life. I had to get away from them ****'s. Good luck.

Girl I feel EXACTLY where u r coming from...which is why next semester (or next year) I am going to a PWI... I miss tha diversity...my closest friends were black, but when it came down to it, I never really hung out wit tha black kids...I dunno why, I just liked hangin out wit tha white girls and tha hispanics. So why in tha hell did I end up at an HBCU? I dunno, I guess out of curiosity. At least I went and can say that it wasn't for me...
