A friend of mine told me that you are never suppose to shake a delta or AKA's hand. She said that one time when she was introducing her self to one of them and she reached out to shake their hand they just stood there and looked at her like she was crazy. what is the reason behind this? and is this looked down upon?

Well...just from greeks that i know, they don't get close with prospects, especially if they know them beforehand. It can come off as favoritism. There is just a certain system to things. You say "good evening"/"good afternoon" in your lil professional tone, nod your head, and go on about your bizniz.
