Annual BET College Day Returns To Paramount's Kings Dominion For Seventh Fun-Filled Year Event Benefits Black Colleges and Universities; Promotes HIV/**** Awareness Among Students Washington, DC - BET and Paramount's Kings Dominion are once again joining forces to support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and to raise awareness about HIV/**** with the 7th Annual BET College Day at Paramount's Kings Dominion on April 10, 2004. This yearly event, exclusively for college students, takes place at Paramount's Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. ET, with proceeds benefiting Rap-It-Up, BET's HIV/**** awareness initiative, and participating HBCUs. The message of the day is one of health and happiness, and will stress the importance of HIV/**** prevention. Rap-It-Up will offer confidential HIV "Testing for Tickets" from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. in front of the park entrance. In return for taking a free HIV/**** test, students can receive a concert ticket prior to entering the park. In addition, participating colleges and universities receive a portion of the proceeds from tickets sold by authorized campus outlets to students from their respective schools. "The BET College Day is a perfect example of the strong commitment BET has to the community. We are excited to partner with Paramount's Kings Dominion to provide college students with a safe and entertaining event to supporting their schools as well as bring awareness to the devastating effects of HIV/****," said Debra Lee, BET President and Chief Operating Officer. Along with the fun and excitement of the park rides and attractions, an all-star lineup of popular BET talent will be featured as hosts of events for the day that include a Greek Step Show featuring sororities and fraternities showcasing their step skills and competing for trophies and monetary prizes; a DJ Battle in which DJs from the east coast go head-to-head on the turntables for a chance to show their skills and be featured on an upcoming episode of BET's RAP CITY: THA BASSMENT; a Freestyle Rap-Off where students can demonstrate their individual rap skills and compete for top honors amongst their peers; and two concerts featuring some of the hottest artists of R&B and Hip Hop. Tickets are available to college students through participating colleges and universities for only $40, which includes park admission and parking. Concert tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis inside the park. Students with valid college identification can purchase advance tickets in advance only through participating colleges and universities. Please Note: Because the 7th Annual BET College Day at Paramount's Kings Dominion is an exclusive event for college students, tickets will only be available through participating colleges and universities. Tickets will not be available through Ticketmaster outlets or Paramount's Kings Dominion ticket offices. In addition, students may be required to show their college identification when purchasing tickets and at Paramount's Kings Dominion on the day of the event.
