Hehehe do yall like the name of this thread
Ok since we have tips on beauty and fashion why not discuss weight. I'm at the point where I don't like the way my clothes fit me..and I've gained fucckin 20 pounds since I've been in college. went from 175-190 in about 4 months
So now I'm at the gym everyday for at least an hour doing straight cardio..
I want to know what are your tips on loosing weight?...I'm trying to be 170 by the time May rolls around here...
So I figured u leave your tips ...here are a few of mine
-Stop eating after 7pm....a majority of the time eating after 7 is what causes you to gain your most weight
- Stop snacking...no candy bars..chocolate none of that. Try eating fruit instead
- Cut back on the potatoes...I know thats hard since thats all they stuff us with at college but try and leave it alone..
- Eat more salads...grilled foods...try and stay away from carbs ( bread potatoes..ect)...
-Do 30 minutes of Cardio at least 4 times a week...stretch before and after...
-Don't try and lift weights if your trying to loose weight...lifting weight causes you to gain muscle...which in thus causes you to gain weight
-Stay away from OODLES AND NOODLES..its been proven that those things cause you to gain weight because of all the sodium that they have...that goes for the easy mac as well
-Drink water...stay away from soda...try drinking more juice/water
Thats all I can think of right now....Oh yeah have any of you thought about taking any dietary supplements? I've seriously been considering taking trimspa..but I'm not sure...what do you think?
Try bootleg weight watchers, it worked for me. Just go get a weight watchers points book and try to limit yourself to about 22-24 points a day and if you exercise give yourself a point or two for that day. I did this my sophomore year after I gained 20 lbs my freshman year and I lost 30 lbs after this cuz ya girl was floating around 190 which is NOT CUTE for a short person..please believe.
Other tips...
Walk, walk, walk
eat breakfast (something small though)
drink water before every meal
exercise 4-5 times a week.
eat about 5 small meals a day rather than 2/3 large meals.
fruit and water will save you when you have the munchies.
stay away from fast foods...period! That pizza, Wendy's and Chinese takeout will MESS YOUR LIFE UP!!
first tip takes away my potatoes, now the good doctor takes my PIZZA....................
imma go thru WITHDRAWAL, like I'm on **** or something..................
This a good thread with some really good tips. I need to lose some pounds. I'm scared to get on the scale, because I KNOW I've gained weight since I got here. My shape has changed...it's time to start going to the gym.
Well, u already know how i feel about the whole diet thing Tiph, but i'll babble about it anyway. I do not believe in diets nor i do i believe in dietary supplements. I think they are a crutch and set up for failure. To say "ok, for the next 4 weeks, i won't eat bread, sweets, and potatoes", then u lose 30 pounds, guess what? Once u lose that quick weight, you're gonna gain it all back just as quick as u lost it becuz you're doing nothing but depriving yourself of stuff that u really want. It's all about in take and consumption. If you want the weight to stay off, and stay off for good, it's a lifestyle change. Become more physically active, like Ash said...eat more small meals thru out the day as opposed to a couple big ones, drink more fluids and liquids, etc.
I lost about 30 pounds since i've been in college and by no means was it intentional. Just a matter of lifestyle change. I no longer had my car, so i had to walk everywhere that i wanted to go. I couldn't just lounge around and run to a fridge whenever it was convenient for me becuz i had to work according to the cafe schedule. I didn't deprive myself of burgers and pizza. I didn't cut every single thing with carbs from my diet. I didn't take any magic pill. My lifestyle just changed as i progressed from highschool to college. Don't make losing weight harder on u than it has to be. It shouldn't be punishment. It should happen naturally and in a natural amount of time.
