I got accepted to Howard and now I'm waiting on my scholarship letter. For those of you who received money for the fall 2004 term, how much did you get and what were your GPA and ACT/SAT scores?
hey girl! I know how frustrated you are b/c i wanna go to HU in the fall but that tuition just went up and stuff. So I've been calling and emailing everybody I could.
Finally I got in touch with this woman named Precious Smith in the Scholarship department or whatever. We emailed each other back and forth and she told me I was eligible for a Legacy Scholarship which would cover tuition and fees. She said I'd know something by the 22nd of March.
I have a 28 ACT and a 3.71 GPA. I think to be eligible you have to have a 25 ACT. I think. I hope this helps.

hey again. today i got home and i had a fed ex. i got that scholarship. i think it's because i kept bothering them w/questions and such. ms. smith really helped too.
What's up. I got the Laureate Scholarship. I tcovers tuition/fees, room, board, and $950/year for books. I have a 3.7/4.0, ACT 29, SAT 1270. The only reason I got the scholarship though is that I am a National Achievement Scholar.

Cosigns. I was initially offered the Capstone. It covered tuition, room, and the fees. My GPA was a 3.76, ACT 30, and SAT 1330. But with that Laureate plus National Achievement scholarship I'm set for the year.

Mine is journalism and english with a minor in arabic....i think. i'm thinkin about african studies though so it might change. but definitely journalism.
Hey girl, just wanted to tell u that there are many opportunities to get free money. I am a freshman at Howard going into my sophomore year. I didn't get anything from Howard, but i had other outside scholarships and a mother than worked like superwoman. Plus, if u keep your grades up while you're here, there are other scholarships that u can get from HU, like the Trustees scholarship (which i will hopefully have next fall). So there is always hope. Never let money keep u from your dreams. When there is will... GOD'S will, there is a way.
