I've noticed that alot of celebs are honorary greeks. What does this mean and are they officially members cause some of them didn't even go to college.
Honorary member, are for all intents and purposes, are members of their respective organizations.
The difference is the rights they have with chapter/national activities. For example: I'm pretty sure that honorary member sdon't have the right to vote on new leaders like active members do, or plan functions for chapters to partcipate in.
They are still members, but only to a certain extent.
I know that in my organization.. Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, honorary members are people who personify the things that the organization stands for.. they usually dont take part in chapter opperations.. but are allowed in rituals and such... I mean they learn all of the "secrets" of the organization.
Suzanne Douglas from the Parenthood also became an honorary member of Delta at their last convention. So did a Judge Johnnie Rawlinson.
I didn't know Wanda Sykes & Loretta Devine were AKAs.
