Me and my cousin are thinking about starting our own computer repair shop. Here's the setup:
If system is fairly up-to-date (Windows XP, hardware varies)
$45/hour for software repairs/upgrades + parts price (probably will include free spyware/virus protection)
$55/hour for hardware repairs/upgrades + parts price
If system isn't fairly up-to-date (windows 2000, NT, ME and below)
55/hour for software repairs/upgrades + part $$ (probably includes free spyware/virus protection)
Hardware repairs/upgrade prices will vary, depending on part prices and how old the original parts were.
Lets say that you wanted us to fix a problem that would require a re-install of your operating system (windows or whatever). That would come out to around 3 hours....$135 + $85 for new software IF YOU DONT HAVE SOFTWARE YOURSELF.
Do ya'll think that's too pricey? Gimme some feedback. I wanna get some decent opinions before we venture off into the PC-repair market.
Do some research on pricing for your company. Check out others in your area who repair computers. See what they charge. Also, test different pricing methods to see which one will work best. I have no idea about repair so, i can't tell you about the prices you listed.
If you're trying to do this the legal way, there is a lot more information that you'll need to know.

sounds great to me...
my dad started his own trucking business about 2 years ago and is bringing home $200,000/yr...he's making more than he did in retail management...plus my parents own rental properties...
entrepeneurship is the best way to go...be your own boss
Eh Kool lemme borrow some of your computer knowledge real fast .
How can I get all this spyware and adware off my computer so it doesn't crash my junk, and so I don't mess anything up when removing them? Does the spybot work the best, or what else can i use.... for free lol.
yeah man go for it...
sounds a little pricy but i am encouraging you to go start your own buisness...there's no greater feeling than knowing that someone isn't making money off of you, and that you are employing poeple who put money in your pocket...
sh!t man, that's what i'm doing right now...i'm going today as a matter of fact to take some class at a tech instititue to get my independant buisness licence...but i'm not truely independant...imma work for PIMAMERICA (citigroup)...yeah man go out and do the dayum thing...so in about a month, imma have some things that 90% of blacks don't have...stock (i put in $30 buck in walmart stock every 2 weeks), and an independant buisness license...imma be selling mortgage loans and stuff like...dude spotted me in Walmart the other day and told me about the whole deal...he said he's gonna take me under his wings...blah blah blah...
so i'm employed by the 2 biggest companies in the world (walmart and citigroup) and yet i'm still poor...not for long 8-) (nessa)

Words of Wisdom
Price HIGH!!
I learned in my business class that new businesses fail when they try to have cheap prices. High prices mean higher quality eventhough thats not always the case. If Best Buy charges $45 a hour you should charge between $40 and $50 a hour...
I think that its a great idea.
My brother started his business like that and its going quite well and it is very profitable. It also leads to bigger and better avenues. Good luck!
