Well, this my interpretation of College life.
If you're used to being with your folks most of the time, get used to being without them. You're growing up and all the responsibility is on you.
You are responsible for you grades and how you do. If you borrow money or have a free ride, don't waste the opportunity.
Make sure to have fun, but not to the point where you can kicked out of school. If you fight, learn to turn the other cheek. Getting kicked out is a bish.
Don't tell your ambitions, just act on them.
Always be good toward your roomate, but you don't have to talk to them if they won't open up.
If you can, have a car. It will do great wonders for you.
Talk to your professors and let them assist you.
Don't fall for the upperclassmen(women). Stick around your class until you made the transition to upperclassman(woman). Trust me, nothing irks me more when a Senior cat get up on a weak-minded freshman straight out of high school.
Expect the worst and when the worst don't happen, you'll be glad.
Oh yeah, if the staff give you a hard time, don't explode, be calm and show you want to get things done on time, they will do their best to help you out in any way.
