It seems lately black people have been making remarkable strides on TV Lately(Mostly reality T.V.) But is it me or does it seem like Reality T.V. put black and white people against each other to increase ratings. Reuben vs. Clay, Kwame vs Bill, Omarosa vs. the whole apprentice cast except Kwame, and etc. And I guarantee this seasons American Idol will come down to Black vs. White.
Is this type of competiton good or bad? It seems to me everytime these types of competition come up, the nation gets divided a long racial lines. For instance, White people hate Omarosa, but black people love her(well most of us).
What y'all think?
Yeah, alot of so called "reality television" pit whites verses black. I think the thing to be concerned mostly though is the fact that in these so calle reality tv show, blacks are usually stereotyped, like, isn't something about how they display black women as being ****, controversial, and black guys as being angry sam Jackson types ie. the real world- Jaquese. Even sadder though, is that we are responsible for alot of the stereotypes like, BET's College Hill- that show is a damn shame.... but its funny though

Yeah I always tell people to stop sterotyping Black people but we do put ourselves out there like College Hill and I guess it'll always be like that in the entertainment world

Come to think of the topic, your right. Blacks are up against Whites on reality TV. Anyone watch America's next top model when they put Yoanna against Camille. And at the end it was Yoanna against Mercedes (even though shes a brown skin Spanish girl). It's a conspiracy I tell you!
well, its supposed to be reality TV and that is the reality of things. Now I am not saying its always whites vs. blacks, but c'mon, most of the time it is. Blacks have been competing against whites since we came to this God-forsaken country, of course, I don't neccessarily wanna see it on TV all the time. But hey, since when did the people who run the TV stations start listening to the opinions of its viewers
and Kwame shoulda won!!
Prime example, Any body who watched American Idol, that was some straight up bulls****. It just goes to show that racism and bias are still alive. There is no way that Jennifer,Fantasia, and Latoya got less votes than that stupid looking white boy. The problem is that the show was getting too black! and they had to even it out. I wouldnt be surprised if the producers staged that to create controversy.
