I jus got dis album last nite & I usually do da same thng wit each nu album I purchase...I go buy it, dnt listen 2 it until I go 2 sleep. Let it play all nite, & all da songs dat r simply masterpieces (or da complete opposite, lol) sumhow creep n2 my slumber & I usually can tell really how good or bad an album is if/whn it wakes me up outta my sleep. I find dat dis method of listen'n 2 brand nu music 4 da 1st time is most therapeutic, but also da most enlighten'n bcuz it gets me 2 focus on wat I'm hear'n. Frm vocal arrangments, lyrical content, drum & percussion programming, & adlibs, to chord progressions, harmonies, background vocals & sound affects, I hear it all da best & da clearest whn I listen 2 nu projects @ nite & on my way 2 sleep.
Well, w/all dat aside...Last nite was different yet similar n a lot of ways. Amerie's nu project "TOUCH" stood out like a sore thumb, jus like her 1st album did. She's got a funny lil' way of comin' up wit da most awkward vocal arrangements & combinations of vocals dat I've eva come across. (4 instance, take a listen @ album tracks #6 "Talkin' About" & da bonus track, which is da Rich Harrison remix to her 1st single "Why Don't We Fall In Love"...who does dat?! Nobody has harmonic notes dat clash like dat, but den dey sumhow wrk sufficiently 4 der brand of music den Miss Amerie Rogers herself.)
But anyways, tell me wat y'all thnk, wat y'all got out of dis album so far if u hav it, if u've really made a conscious effort 2 hear da musicality of dis project, and so forth. I'd really like 2 hear wat many of my otha music fanatics hav 2 say about it, bcuz overall it's a pretty good album frm beginning 2 end & I am proud of her 4 take'n da many unorthodox approaches she takes 2ward a nu side of R&B music. Let's get sum comments y'all, hit dis page up ASAP. Dis is a MUSIC Forum rite? LOL! :grin:
I feel u doe. I hope I didnt sound like I was down'n Amerie's cd. I luv it, don't get me wrong. I was make'n an analysis of wat I heard. Its a great album overall. Its unique & creative, I jus want'd 2 hear wat otha fans thought 2 so 4giv me if I may have diminish'd it anyway. I sincerely apologize. It got 5 stars n my book!!! :-D
