Oprah (if I had to pick one). I'd probably say something like... oh you lived in Nashville right? Your dad used to be my dad's and my brother's barber. Can I have a car?
Naw, I'd tell her she is an excellent role model and a driving force across the world...I probably would throw in that I've met her father though :-D
I have two. Cant choose one over the other for different reasons and I'll explain why. Anyways my 2 celebrity role models are Oprah and Diddy.
Oprah cause she came from nothing and has made such positive contributions in the lives of millions and people and never ever hesitates to give what she can, and sh has dedicated her life to blessing others because of how she has been tremendously been blessed and has never compromised her values and morality for anything.
Diddy because he is such a smart businessman and altho he didnt finish college, he did go to school to better himself at one time. And besides all that there aint NOTHIN Diddy cant do. He can make millions off anything...voter campaigns, marathons, clothing lines, restaurants, etc... the list goes on and on. Bad Boy may have fallen off the last few years, but I respect Diddy's drive and determination and his entreprenuership. We need more black entrepreneurs like him to have investments in a lil of everything. Ive always respected what he does and I always look to him and Oprah for inspriation in my future endeavors.
I want to meet two folks: Kenneth Chenault the black CEO of American Express; teach me how to make money MAN; and I'd love to meet Antonio "LA" Reid, his knowledge of the Music biz would be invaluable.
Bill Cosby.
I'd just sit back and have some type of father/son type conversation with him....just pick his brain and what not...let him teach me a few things about life that my pops never wanted to tell me.
Michael Jordan...When I was a kid, I gotta admit that I wanted to be like him, not necessarily by playing basketball, but how he excelled in doing what he loved to do. He, along with others, helped me believe that I can also be very successful in whatever I hoped to do as a Black man.
I would just tell him that I needed someone like him to look up to, and I would thank him for being a positive role model and for letting me know that young people, like myself, should continue to believe in ourselves.
uhmmm.... Tom Joyner
I mean... with me wanting to be a radio personality and him already being one syndicated in soo many cities...
I would ask him for a job/internship... and some pointers on the industry...
also Cathy Hughes.... becuz of her determination and success in creating Radio-One
She's not a Celebrity in a way, but I'd say Nancy Grace from CourtTv, she's someone who I admire in the legal field. She tells it like it is and doesn't care who toes she steps on.Lol. And I hope to have some of her fierceness when I start practicing law. I'd tell her how much I admire her and ask her to give me some tips on how to survive law school and other stuff. :-D
