I watch a lot of Pistons games on TV and a lot of the time you see a bunch of people wearing Afro wigs in honor of Ben Wallace. Mind you, most of the wigs look like clown wigs, but that's another things entirely. My thing is, you see a lot of non black people wearing them. Little white boy - afro wig. Asian guy - afro wig. Old white lady - afro wig.
Also, I was watching Dr. Phil and this particular episode was about the guy who cheated on his wife and fathered a child with his mistress. His wife didn't like that child because (aside from her being a product of his affair) she she acted out, "talked black," and because wore cornrows. Talked black because she used profanity in the words of the wife.
Do you all believe that white people use the black image because they think it's cool, or do you believe that they use the image until they tire of it because they know that whatever they do while using the image will be attached to the stereotype black people?
