you guys I feel like my life is going completely in the wrong direction....it seems like Im only good at the things I dont want to do. I feel that college is my only way of changing my life so I dont wind up with an unhappy future...but I cant decide on my major
Now I know what youre thinking....you can change your major and blah blah blah....Im just really afraid im going to do something that makes me unhappy ....I am really into music and dance....I've only tooken a dance class for a year once and I love to sing but the closest i've come to that is chorus class....I feel like im OK at singing and dancing and I absolutely LOVE to do them both...its my passion.... but im much better at things like math and science and academics....Im good at it...but I hate it
I wouldnt even mind being a producer or a director for music videos...or an a&r at a record label.....I just dont know what to do so my questions are
1.) What are good money making careers that have to do with music
2.) Even though I have no experience with music and production should I pursue my dreams or just do what im good at?
HELP please ...........
I was meaning to post awhile ago, but my computer was acting a litte strange. I'm not sure what you should major in. I would suggest that you use a seach engine, such as google, to find some careers. Look in to performaning arts and schools with performaning arts.
Perhaps you can attend one of these events:

There is specific information on dance, film, and music programs in:
The Black Excel African American Student's College Guide by Isaac Black. Available at Amazon.com, a local bookstore, or a public library. Visit Isaac Black's webite: www.blackexcel.org
These schools have degree porgrams in music business:
Fisk University (Tennessee)
Johnson C. Smith University (North Carolina)

balance your dreams with reality. maybe your first year make music and dance a part of the extracurricular activities you get involved in then if you feel more confident make them a part of your studies. but don't throw them away.
I wouldn't worry about a major your first year of college...because whatever u make as ur major, 9 times out of 10, you're gonna change it anyhow. Like PrettyPoet said, make music apart of ur extracurriculars first. Thaz the best way to determine if u wanna major in it, because u actually get to do what u love, and apply what u learn to real life.
