There are two major items of makeup that most women wear. Lipgloss and foundation. Some wear more and some none at all.
I guess it depends on what your natural preference is, some women like the flawless look so they will wear the foundation because it gives them a smooth even look. Also it does a great job of hiding scars.
With a lot of females, they don't undertstand 1) right color and 2) amount. They usually go to drug stores and buy shades that seem to match their skin tones, and they apply to much. The best method is to go to a department store (MAC is the best brand I recommend) and have someone help you fidn the right shade.
I know I veered a little off course, but to answer your question a lot of girls wear make-up to come across perfect. No one wants to talk to a girl with a face full of scars.
I personally think that the whole "caking on makeup" is a confidence thing. I believe a lot of women hide behind the makeup. If you are comfortable with yourself, then what is the need for all the makeup? I mean, it's okay to wear makeup, but sometimes it's just a lil(or a lot) too much.
I used to ask how some people could get up and smear fat all over their face. But then it occured to me that I gut up and put a straight blade to my neck and scrape it back and forth. :???:
yea that's basically it. people who cake on makeup either have serious confidence issues(as in over-confident or lacking confidence) or just have blotchy skin. all i ever wear is lip gloss and mascara, never foundation i feel "fake" with it
Me and my cousin had this discussion a while back and we both prefer a natural look a little isn't that bad. But when you look like a clown its a problem.
Hmm this is a good topic... I think AfroPoeticSis is right .. it is a confidence issue... I talked to one girl at my school who wears a lot of Make-up and she told me that she feels "****" without it and I was thinking to myself wow... she is so dependant upon her make-up that she has lost sight of her beauty without it...Personally, I don't wear a lot of make-up because it irritates my skin, if I do wear make-up its very light ... lip gloss, and mascara that's about it. I like the way I look both with and without make-up ... I think a lot of people forget that the overall purpose of make-up is to enhance your beauty.
