I am going to be a future Bison in the fall. Posted on 01-19-2006
JamilaakaMila

If you are reading this post, my hope is that you will give me some insight on Howard University and what it is like to live in Washibgton D.C. I have never been to visit the campus because of insufficient funds so any information that you have will be of help to me. Thank You Jamila Moore

Howard is whatever u make of it. The key is to find a good comfort zone, friends that you are comfortable with, and a things to keep you active. If you keep those in mind, you'll find few times where u get homesick or lonely. Howard has an overwhelming amount of things to get involved in, so i'm sure it's possible for you to find something, as well as cool people that you like. As far as DC goes, well...it's one of those places where u either love it or hate it. Like in most cases, i'm pretty sure that you are going to believe that your hometown/city is better. And tru, HU is located in the hood, but i've seen worse ghettoes in my life, so it really isn't that bad to me. DC is a very diverse place tho, and there is always something to do. You can get from one part of the city to the other in little to no time and you'll have a different experience in each part that you visit. Like i said before, your experience at HU and in DC is going to be whatever you make of it. It's in your hands...

I'll see you there in the fall! I get the chance to visit DC a lot but in order to have a good time anywhere, you must remain open minded.
