MoveOn is a diverse and vibrant community of millions of people working together to create progressive change in America. We are an innovative campaigning organization that supports people throughout the country to take action through driving impactful campaigns that influence the behavior of people and institutions, shape the outcomes of elections, and expand the realities of what’s possible. We organize to challenge entrenched power, while pursuing economic, racial, and social justice and a vision of a country in which everyone can thrive.
MoveOn has a particularly important role to play in the Trump era. We are working to defeat Donald Trump and the GOP in 2020 by building a powerful, multiracial, and economic populist movement that will give voters something to vote for, not just against—and we're also working to defend communities that are on the front lines of Trump and GOP attacks, including immigrants, people of color, the LGBTQ community, and women. In service of that mission, in 2020 and beyond, MoveOn will drive impactful, movement-connected, multichannel, nimble campaigns aimed at impact.
Mobilize to Win is our 2020 voter turnout program. Mobilize to Win is a movement of people across the country organizing their friends, family, colleagues, classmates, and community members to get out the vote in November. By engaging the people we know, we can defeat Donald Trump, take control of the Senate, elect progressives at all levels of government, and build an America for all of us.
Our strategy is to build a Vote Mobilizer community of dedicated voters who multiply their voter power by supporting and encouraging people they know personally to vote too. Thousands of people across the country are stepping up to be Vote Mobilizers to increase voter turnout.
Vote Mobilizers organize a Vote Team of 10 people from their friends and family to help them vote safely by November. This includes making sure they know how to register to vote if they’re not already, helping them decide how to vote: by mail, early in person, or on Election Day, and following up to ensure they follow through with their plan. Studies show that there is simply nothing more effective than a friend reaching out to a friend about voting. Voters are 2.5 times more likely to be persuaded to vote by a friend than by a stranger. That is huge. We have a responsibility to engage the people we know to get involved in this election.
Voter Mobilization Organizers are responsible for empowering the MoveOn Volunteer Network to support Vote Mobilizers across the country using distributed organizing methods. This includes managing remote volunteer teams, leading mass digital trainings and team calls, and fostering community online. Organizers will spend a lot of time on the phone with top volunteer leaders, facilitating team calls, and training volunteers to use our suite of digital tools.

Empower volunteers to manage critical aspects of the Mobilize to Win program, while providing ongoing updates, frequent team calls, reporting results and recognizing “super” volunteers.

Execute distributed mobilizations, such as virtual couch parties, to recruit additional Vote Mobilizers
