Business Units at MCI USA
Association Solutions (formerly part of Coulter Companies) delivers comprehensive management services and expert consulting to a broad range of nonprofit organizations, including Trade and Professional associations and Foundations, focused on improving the efficiency, effectiveness and growth trajectory of its association clients.

Position Description
MCI USA is part of a sophisticated global business whose expansion in both scale and service offerings requires an experienced senior finance leader delivering high-level expertise and knowledge to support the USA Chief Executive Officer and executive team members in the implementation of a best practice approach to both strategic and tactical Finance operations. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for consolidated annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, long-range business planning, cash forecasting, tax strategy and implementation, M&A, and direct supervision of business unit finance directors. A knowledge of both GAAP and IFRS is required for coordinating local finance operations and consolidation reporting.

The individual selected for this position will be a participant in MCI USA’s Senior Management (SEMA) Team, composed of the heads of Business Unit and Group functions.

Key Strategic Responsibilities

As an MCI high growth region, the SVP/Finance will work directly with the MCI USA CEO, and collaborate with related stakeholders, including MCI Group Holding (Global HQ) leaders, Business Unit leaders and the strong existing finance team to:

•Ensure an optimized, efficient and accountable USA financial operation, with an eye towards optimizing broader geographic finance oversight post-US optimization
•Consider and recommend optimized USA legal structure and related finance framework
•Serve as a strategic peer in collaboration with USA Business Unit leaders

Operational Responsibilities

The SVP/Finance will be responsible for the operational implementation of the above key strategic responsibilities, to include:

•Direct Supervisory/Management and setting of relevant KPIs for Finance Directors of three key legal entities (Wyndham Jade, Coulter, Network Media)
•Lead financial planning and analysis including creation of consolidated budget, forecasts, and 5-year business plans for each business unit using HQ-provided Excel templates. This requires coordination of strategic directives at the U.S. level with implementation within individual business units with each Finance Director
•Create consolidated U.S. reporting summary (in Excel) using Business Unit results provided by Finance Directors while researching items within different accounting systems, as needed
•Lead cash forecasting and management, treasury relationships and functionality across USA entities and business units
•Lead annual and half year closing of legal entities across all offices in the U.S. in support of consolidation at HQ
•Facilitate and guide Finance Directors in support of the annual financial audit
•At the direction of the USA CEO, support MCI USA’s ongoing strategic direction and supporting tactical initiatives
•Monitor key performance measures that support the company’s strategic objectives
•Monitor and direct the implementation of financial and tax strategies to optimize USA structure and performance
oLiase with third-party tax advisor and serve as primary point of contact for annual tax return preparation and filing
•Facilitate and maintain a working environment in accordance with MCI’s corporate vision and guiding principles

Mergers & Acquisitions
•While MCI USA has grown rapidly through strategic acquisitions that have fueled related organic growth, in the near-to-mid term, we envision greater focus on organic growth and EBITDA-enhancing initiatives. The MCI USA CEO will continue to explore potential acquisitions as market conditions and global financial markets enable and the SVP, Finance will support these initiatives as they potentially arise, from outreach through execution and integration.

•Requires hours beyond the normal workday/work week, traveling during and outside of business hours and being available in excess of regular business hours.

Qualifications & Requirements
Qualifications, Education and Experience

•Relevant, progressive career experience in related growth-focused professional services businesses required; strong preference for direct experience in structuring finance operations for efficiency and effectiveness
•Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required; MBA, Master’s in Finance or Accounting and/or CPA preferred
•Past employer with European Parent or HQ preferred
•Events, Association Management Industry Knowledge preferred
•Financial Systems: ERP experience required (SAP preferred)
•Expert Excel Skills required
•Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex material (including financial, legal and governmental regulations) and provide strategic and tactical insights to US and Global leaders
•Executive-level written and verbal communication skills required
•High emotional intelligence and the ability to build relationships with colleagues across all levels of the organization
