Job Order: Assistant to a Paralegal

Position Title: Assistant to a Paralegal

Department: Legal Services

Reports To: Assigned Paralegal and Supervising Attorney

Location: Central San Antonio

Job Summary: The Assistant to a Paralegal will support paralegals and the legal team in their daily operations by performing administrative, clerical, and basic legal support tasks. This role is integral to ensuring efficient workflow and organization within the law firm.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Administrative Support:

o Organize and maintain legal documents, case files, and correspondence.

o Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and court dates.

o Answer phone calls and manage emails, directing inquiries appropriately.

2. Clerical Duties:

o Draft and proofread basic legal documents and correspondence under supervision.

Monitor and organize incoming e-service documents.

3. Research and Documentation:

o Assist with document review and basic analysis.

4. Client Interaction:

o Serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring prompt and professional communication.

o Relay updates and gather additional information as requested by the legal team.

Coordinate with clients to schedule depositions and mediations.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or coursework in legal studies preferred.

Experience: Prior experience in a legal environment or administrative role preferred.

Skills:

o Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.

o Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

Work Environment:

Professional office setting with occasional remote tasks as needed.

Compensation:

$18.00 hourly- Short term temp to hire
