Act 33/34 clearances are required prior to appointment at the cost of the applicant.</p><p>It is the policy of Allegheny County that in order to receive a final offer of employment, candidates must successfully pass a background check, which includes verification of Allegheny County Real Estate Tax status and drug/medical examinations as required for the position. The pre-employment drug screen must be completed within 48 hours of the acceptance of the conditional offer of employment.</p></span> </div> <br> <span id="bold4" class=" font-weight-bold">Position Summary: </span> <span id="MainContent_PositionSummary"><br><br><p>The Compliance Manager performs administrative activities to support the operations of the Allegheny County Jail. The Compliance Manager is responsible for accreditation, grievances, and compliance activities. The Compliance Manager reports directly to the Warden and typically works Monday through Friday. However, schedules must be flexible to include occasional evening or weekend work when additional support is needed.</p></span> <br> <br> <span id="MainContent_bold12" class="font-weight-bold">Overview: </span> <span id="MainContent_Overview"><br><br></span> <br> <span id="bold5" class="font-weight-bold">Duties: </span> <span id="MainContent_Duties"><br><br><ul><li>Coordinate the facility's compliance with the American Correctional Association (ACA) Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and Title 37.</li><li>Coordinates policy distribution.</li><li>Assists with the development and maintenance of policies and procedures.</li><li>Interprets policy and procedure and provides clear explanations to staff.</li><li>Prepares detailed reports relating to the facility's programs and operations. </li><li>Audits, reviews, collects, and organizes documents to demonstrate proof of compliance with accreditation standards that must be met by the Allegheny County Jail.</li><li>Conducts facility inspections to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.</li><li>Reviews, tracks, and responds to grievances filed by the incarcerated population. </li><li>Ensures the grievance process is followed and that responses are provided to the incarcerated population within the appropriate timeframes.</li><li>Coordinates with Allegheny County Solicitors office for matters involving lawsuits filed by incarcerated individuals.</li><li>Meets with incarcerated individuals to explain policies and procedures.</li><li>Acts as the agency's Limited English Proficiency Coordinator and ensures access to translation and interpretation services.</li><li>Coordinates visits to the facility for various groups, government officials, students, professors, and the Jail Oversight Board Liaison.</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold6" class="font-weight-bold">Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities </span> <span id="MainContent_KSA"><br><br></span> <span id="bold7" class="font-weight-bold">Knowledge of: </span> <span id="MainContent_Knowledgeof"><br><br><ul><li>American Correctional Association (ACA), Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA), and Title 37.</li><li>Accreditation standards and requirements.</li><li>Grievance processing.</li><li>Correctional program services and security policies.</li><li>Criminal Justice system.</li><li>Conflict resolution.</li><li>Project Management.</li><li>Quality Assurance.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold9" class="font-weight-bold">Skill in: </span> <span id="MainContent_Skills"><br><br><ul><li>Microsoft Office products.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold8" class="font-weight-bold">Ability to: </span> <span id="MainContent_Abilityto"><br><br><ul><li>Investigate and respond to grievances filed by incarcerated individuals.</li><li>Interpret, apply, and clearly explain policies, procedures, and regulations.</li><li>Function independently and make informed decisions using sound professional judgment and ethics.</li><li>Interact with the incarcerated population in a professional manner.</li><li>Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks in a stressful environment.</li><li>Demonstrate strong organizational skills.</li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, outside agencies, the public, and incarcerated individuals, as well as their families.  </li><li>Communicate effectively orally and in writing and follow written and oral instructions.</li><li>Negotiate, manage, and resolve conflicts successfully.</li><li>Problem-solve utilizing a solution-focused manner.</li></ul></span> <br> <span id="bold10" class="font-weight-bold">Residency: </span> <span id="MainContent_Residency">Not required to live in Allegheny County</span> <br> <span id="bold11" class=" font-weight-bold">Veterans' Preference: </span> <span id="MainContent_VeteransPreference">Will be awarded to eligible candidates.</span> <br> <div id="Needtocenterandbold" class=" text-md-center font-weight-bold"> AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER - M/F/V/D </div> <br> <br> <div id="Needtocenterandbold2" class=" text-md-center font-weight-bold"> <a href="https://apps.alleghenycounty.us/HRJobApplication/firstpage.aspx?id=2905" id="MainContent_Applyonline">Apply Online</a> </div> </div> <br> <br> <br> </div>
