<dt><h2>Class Description</h2></dt>
<dd><p>Part Time instructor positions available in Dance, teaching one or more of the following Dance technique courses: Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Modern Dance, Ballet, and other dance forms as needed. The ability to teach Dance Appreciation, and History of Hip Hop Dance is also a consideration. Please indicate technique forms qualified to teach on application. Adjunct faculty are selected based on program needs and subject matter expertise of the applicant.  Adjunct faculty are required to attend department meetings, participate in professional development related to classroom instruction and pedagogy, be available to students outside of class and assist in maintaining program accreditation.  <br><br>Locations: CCBC Essex &amp; Catonsville Campuses and extension centers.<br><br><strong style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;text-align: left;">Adjunct Level 1 - $1,085 per credit hour.</strong><span style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"> </span><br style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><br style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><span style="color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><strong>Adjunct faculty may teach up to 22 credit hours each year and usually teach no more than 11 credits each semester.</strong></span><strong> </strong></p></dd>
<dt><h2>Minimum Requirements</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><ul style="list-style-type: disc;padding: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 40.0px;margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0pt;color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Master’s degree in Dance; or Master’s degree in related field with 18 graduate credits in Dance; or qualifying equivalency/portfolio and successful experience as a practitioner in the field</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Two (2) years teaching experience</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Experience working with non-traditional and diverse student populations preferred</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Experience using classroom technology and learning management systems preferred</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Prior college teaching experience preferred</li></ul></dd>

<dd><p></p><ol style="list-style-type: decimal;padding: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 40.0px;margin: 0.0px 0.0px 3.0pt;color: inherit;font-style: normal;text-indent: 0.0px;"><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the program director and/or course coordinator</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Abides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Ensures instruction meets or exceeds standards established by National Association of Schools of Dance</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Adheres to the scheduled time of class/lab</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and College policies</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Ensures that program specific evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assessing the established course objectives</li><li style="list-style-type: inherit;padding: 0.0px;margin: 0.0px;">Monitors student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback within a reasonable timeframe to students</li></ol></dd>
