By offering a holistic learning environment that is both accepting and challenging, we meet students where they are and take them where they want to go.   We offer the region’s most expansive selection of degree, certificate and workplace certification programs at 3 campuses plus 3 convenient CCBC centers along with off-site community locations.</p><p style="margin: 0.0in;"><br></p><p style="margin: 0.0in;"><span style="color: inherit;">Adjunct Teacher Education faculty are needed to teach classes at the Community College of Baltimore County in Child Care Provider/Preparation for Maryland Credentialing. Classes may include in-person during the day, remote synchronously in the evening, and 100% online through CCBC’s learning management system.</span></p><br><p style="margin: 0.0in;">Adjunct faculty are expected to prepare and deliver instruction, monitor student progress, cooperate with college support staff, and participate in required trainings and meetings. Adjunct Faculty are selected based on the needs of the program, applicant proficiency, course availability, and student enrollment.</p><br><p style="margin: 0.0in;margin-bottom: 12.0pt;">Interested candidates are encouraged to indicate their availability during the semester and in which modality (in-person, online, etc.) they would like to be considered. <dt><h2>Minimum Requirements</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><ul style="margin-left: 0.0in;margin-bottom: 3.0pt;"><li><span style="color: inherit;">Master’s degree in education-related field required.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Five (5) years of teaching experience in licensed childcare and/or pk-5 setting required; college teaching experience preferred. </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Expert knowledge of Maryland childcare regulations required. Working knowledge of the Maryland childcare credential program preferred.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Successful completion of an MSDE/Office of Childcare-approved “train the trainer” session preferred. </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Proficient working with learning management systems.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color: inherit;">Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.</span></li></ul></dd>
<dt><h2>Class Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt>
<dd><p></p><ul style="margin-left: 0.0in;margin-bottom: 3.0pt;"><li><span style="color: inherit;">Fulfill department and college responsibilities as directed by the department chairperson and/or coordinators.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Use CCBC common course outline to develop course syllabus, prepare and deliver course instruction while adhering to college and department policies.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of a diverse student population.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Utilize the CCBC learning management system. </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Monitor student participation and performance, evaluate student work, and provide timely feedback.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Keep and submit accurate classroom records.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Assure that evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assess established course objectives in a consistent and equitable manner.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Provide one office hour each week per class taught.</span></li><li><span style="color: inherit;">Attend required training sessions, professional development, and departmental meetings.</span></li></ul><ul><li><span style="color: inherit;">Abide by college-wide policies and procedures.</span></li></ul></dd>
