<p><span style="font-family: Arial"></span></p><h2 style="text-align: center">Part-Time Academic Hourly Clinical Counselor (Mandarin-Speaking)</h2><h3 style="text-align: center">Counseling Center</h3><p style="text-align: center"><strong>Student Affairs</strong></p>The University of Illinois Counseling Center is hiring oneor more hourly clinical counselors to provide clinical assessment, counseling,and triage for individual clients. The successful candidate will join anenergetic, diverse team of nearly 50 staff including 29 clinicians, 4pre-doctoral interns, 6 counseling center professional staff, 7 administrativestaff, as well as a team of undergraduate paraprofessionals and master’s levelpracticum counselors. The University of Illinois Counseling Center's mission isto provide culturally competent services to a diverse clientele presenting witha wide range of psychological, educational, social, and developmental concerns.The Counseling Center is also an APA approved pre-doctoral internship site.Individuals with diverse backgrounds, experience and ideas who embrace andvalue diversity and inclusivity are encouraged to apply.<p>&nbsp;</p><p><span style="font-family: Arial"><p><strong>Job Summary</strong><br>Primary job duties are to provide clinical assessments andcounseling for individuals and couples; in addition, may provide groupcounseling and/or emergency triage services as needed. The clinical counselorat times may provide clinical supervision of practicum students and other newstaff (when appropriate and depending on need); and other duties as assigned.Seeking candidates who are available for at least one full-day (7-8 hours)shift per week. This is an in-person (on campus) position.&nbsp; <br><br>To meet the service demand for our diverse student body, weare particularly looking for bilingual clinicians who speak English andMandarin.&nbsp; Successful candidates will befluent in Mandarin and have experience providing psychological services inMandarin.<br><br><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Provide time-limited counseling services for individuals and couples</li><li>Conduct initial intakes and assessments</li><li>Manage clinical crises and triage services</li><li>Participate in psychological emergency and trauma response</li><li>Provide group counseling services through a general therapy group or a group that addresses a specific clinical issue or the needs of a particular population of students</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li><li>Be able to fulfill all duties using both English and Mandarin</li></ul>&nbsp; <h4>Minimum Qualifications</h4><p>Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or Masters in Social Work or Counseling required. Must currently possess appropriate professional licensure in Illinois: Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin. Experience providing psychological services in Mandarin.</p><h4>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</h4><ul><li>Ability to fulfill all duties using both English and Mandarin </li></ul></span></p><h4>Appointment Information</h4><p>Generally, this position will be a minimum of 9 months (within the academic calendar schedule) to provide adequate continuity. This position may last for a longer period of time by mutual consent of the incumbent and the Center and will be reviewed with option to renew contract on an annual basis.</p><p>This is an in-person (on campus) position, and the work hours will vary depending on need and candidate availability. Weekly schedule will be 1-3 days/week. Percent time may increase at a later date. The Counseling Center hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays.</p><p>Proposed start date is as soon as possible.&nbsp;</p><p>The previously determined hourly rate of pay for this position is $50-55/hour dependent on qualifications; paid for full shift regardless of number of client meetings.&nbsp;</p><h4>Application Procedures &amp; Deadline Information</h4><p>Apply for this position using the Apply Now button at the top or bottom of this posting.
