The Child Development Center Department of the Long Beach Community College District is seeking a qualified individual for a current opportunity as a Child Care Assistant! This individual will be responsible for providing care, guidance and developmentally appropriate learning and socialization experiences for toddler and/or preschool-aged children to encourage and facilitate positive social and cognitive learning; and performs related duties as assigned. Duties and responsibilities are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established policies, procedures and guidelines. We are looking for someone who has obtained graduation from high school or GED equivalency. Additionally, this candidate must have a completion of twelve (12) semester units in child growth and development, human growth and development, child family and community, or child development/early childhood education courses from an accredited college and a minimum of 25 days experience of three-plus (3+) hours per day within 2 years; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
