The Information Technology Services Department at Long Beach City College is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Information Security Administrator to help protect the District's information assets and support a strong cybersecurity environment. In this role, you will implement and maintain security architecture, standards, and tools; monitor security activity; and help identify and address potential risks. You will guide incident response efforts, support audits and compliance needs, and provide insight on secure system design and procurement. As a senior technical resource, you will contribute to keeping District systems safe, reliable, and resilient for the students, faculty, and staff we serve. The successful candidate will need to:

Duties GENERAL PURPOSE Under general direction of assigned administrator, implements, maintains, and monitors the District's information security architecture, standards, and systems to protect District information assets. Implements and enforces security policies and procedures and recommends updates to administrator. Leads incident response efforts per approved plans, conducts risk and vulnerability assessments, prepares technical evidence for audits and compliance, serves as a senior technical subject-matter expert on cybersecurity matters and performs related duties as assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS The Information Security Administrator is a senior professional/functional lead classification with enterprise-wide impact. Incumbents in this class independently administer enterprise security solutions, lead incident response and investigations, and coordinate cross-domain remediation to verified closure. Incumbents coordinate with vendors and external agencies on technical matters. This classification is distinguished from lower-level IT positions by its advanced technical expertise, enterprise-wide scope, functional lead responsibilities within established policies. Qualifications Education, Training and Experience:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a closely related field; and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in network and information security, including experience with enterprise security architecture, incident response, and compliance support; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. * Experience is evaluated on the basis of a verifiable 35 hour week, unless specified otherwise.
