The successful candidate may have teaching assignments at various College campuses including the California Men's Colony state prison. The candidate will also have additional College and departmental responsibilities as outlined below. Essential Functions & Qualifications To be considered for the Addiction Studies, Social Work and Human Services discipline: Required: -Any Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment; OR -Any Associate's degree from an accredited institution and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment; OR -The equivalent. (Candidates applying on the basis of equivalency must submit all materials requested for an equivalency judgment. For directions on what is an acceptable equivalency argument please review the requirements listed on the HR Website or see further information on Equivalency Petition Process Information below.) OR -A valid Community College credential in the discipline (If received prior to 1990, as the credential is no longer being issued). Also Required: -Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Desirable: -Teaching experience in the discipline, community college level preferred; -Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community Colleges. Candidates who also meet the Counseling and/or Psychology minimum qualifications may be assigned coursework within the Movement and Health Sciences Division, according to the below qualifications: To be Considered for the Counseling discipline: -Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling, from an accredited institution; OR -A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in one of the listed degrees AND a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT); OR -The equivalent.
