Dr. James Alvarez’s laboratory at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician II. Our laboratory seeks to understand the genetic and cellular underpinnings of tumor progression, with a focus on tumor dormancy and therapy resistance. To achieve this goal, we use genomic, cell biologic, biochemical, and genetic tools to study genetically engineered mouse models and human cancer cells.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and have excellent organizational skills.
The applicant will have an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to research projects in our lab. The ideal candidate will be able to independently drive a research project with guidance from the PI and work collaboratively as part of a team. We anticipate that these contributions will result in the technician being an author on multiple high-impact publications. Responsibilities
