Decision Management enables faster, smarter decisioning at global scale by structuring and applying complex business logic across the payment journey and beyond. Decision Data Caching provides in-memory storage platform for easy access by Transaction Processing services to prevent fraud. Our platform orchestrates high throughput, low latency, and data-intensive processing across Decision Managements intelligent systems on behalf of a suite of market-facing products.<br>This position is responsible for working on behalf of those market-facing products to directly and indirectly lead teams of program managers, product managers, and software engineers to deliver enhancements across the Decision Management platform. More so than most technical management roles, this position requires a patient empathy to relate to and understand the needs of our partners and an organizational savvy to find creative and co-beneficial ways forward when the ability to execute requires coordination beyond your direct team. <br><br>The Manager, Software Engineering role is a model for the Mastercard Way of creating value, moving fast, and growing together.<br><br>Role Responsibilities: <br> Drive the architectural design, including dependent services, service interactions and policies.<br> Provide dedicated and hands-on people leadership over a scrum team through guided personal development plans, performance reviews, and technical guidance.<br> Form deep and meaningful relationships with our partners in product to better understand the market and to create a sense of united urgency to deliver.<br> Intrinsically understanding the priorities of the businessworking collaboratively to create strategic roadmaps and their delivery while balancing against short term regulatory and operational needsand then speaking with an authoritative voice to align your teams and partners on whats most importanteven when its not what they want. <br> <br>All About You:<br> Proficient with different application patterns to implement different types of business processes (e.g., APIs, event-driven-services, cloud technologies, batch-services, web-applications, big data). <br> Hands-on experience with data-intensive programming in Java, REST API, Microservices, Kafka, Axon, MQ, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Jenkins, and Spring. <br> Seasoned in leading teams to deliver large and complex releases on-time and budget.<br> Well-versed in SDLC practices (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) and the nuances/applicability of their use in a variety of delivery situations.<br> An expert in using basic engineering principles for building and running mission critical software capabilities (security, customer experience, testing, operability, simplification, service-oriented architecture).<br> <br>Education <br> Required undergraduate degree in Computer Science or in a STEM-intensive degree program with related experience in software engineering.<br> Preferred graduate degree in Computer Science or Business with related experience in fintech and payments.<br><br>This is a hybrid position based in Mastercards OFallon Main Campus, requiring three days on-site per week.<h3></h3><p style="text-align:inherit"></p>Mastercard is a merit-based, inclusive, equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more.
