Job Summary: We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Associate Director for Support Services Reporting to the Director for Student Accommodations & Support Services (SASS), the Associate Director for Support Services connects students with essential wrap-around care and services. Helping students navigate accommodations, university processes, Title IX support, basic needs support, and academic resources, this position is a primary leader in assessing and supporting students experiencing life issues and barriers to success. SASS is a team dedicated to supporting students with the goal of increasing student success and retention. The Associate Director for Student Support Services must be able to guide multiple complex student cases on a concurrent basis, communicate effectively with myriad constituencies, prepare sensitive, high-level reports, correspondence, and briefing materials, and function autonomously with significant discretion in a dynamic environment. The position regularly deals with students in crisis and sensitive matters and is a key supervisor, case manager, communicator, educator, and advocate for students. The Associate Director is tasked with helping create and support an equitable learning community at EWU for all students who need support services and a secondary point of contact for Student Accommodations and Support Services (SASS). The Associate Director will work closely with the Director to ensure students receive support services they need by working collaboratively with campus stakeholders, particularly departments/units integral to providing guidance and assistance to students. The Associate Director is responsible for advising, advocating for, and providing student support services. Additionally, the Associate Director will help with designing and facilitating programs, workshops, resources, and communications to support students in crisis. Specific positional focus is on students dealing with sexual misconduct, mental health concerns, and other high-level crisis situations. The Associate Director will build collaborative internal and external relationships, work closely with all Student Affairs case managers to connect students in need of resources and support, and help oversee SASSs involvement in campus, local, and regional activities/events that contribute to student success and retention. This position supervises department staff and student employees, as well as advises and assists students, staff, and faculty with referrals to appropriate on- and off-campus resources, as needed. The salary for this position is $64,164 up to $80,000. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.
