Job Description

  • Serve as the principal advisor and right hand to theVice Presidentof Value &Evidence, supporting strategy development, operational excellence, and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Lead strategic planning and execution for V&E, aligning business objectives with enterprise goals. Includes providingdirection and oversight acrossV&Eto ensure effective planning,executionand assessment of progressto maximize organizational impact.

  • Drive operational effectiveness by building andoptimizingprocesses, reporting, and performance metricsand/or managingoperational initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Designs and implements control systems and metrics to ensure efficient, effective, high quality, andtimelyV&Eservices and deliverables.

  • Serve as chief communicator and facilitator for leadership team meetings, program reviews, and major initiatives.Includesdefining agendas,managingtopics/decisions/actions,and contributingas a member of the leadership team.

  • Leverage this leadership team to provide guidance and foster strong alignmentacross V&E pillars, MHIand cross-functional partners across AbbVie.

  • LeverageV&Eteam to highlightbest practices and shared learnings acrossV&E pillarsand cross functional partners to continually improve processes, streamline tool development and engageV&Eemployees.

  • Partner with stakeholders across research, medical, development, andcommercialto coordinateV&Eprojectsand shared initiatives.

  • Empower data driven decisions on resource allocation,processand quality improvement acrossV&E pillars.Contributetotheoperational support of the V&E budget,headcountand capital asset planning.

  • Support change management, culture, and talent development efforts within the function.

  • Serve as ambassador ofValue & Evidenceandmaintainstrongconnectivity with strategic planning & operations leads from other MHI pillars and stakeholder functions.

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight across theValue &Evidenceteams to ensure effective planning,executionand assessment of progressto maximize organizational impact.

  • Recruit,developandretaindiverse talent to theV&EOperations team that delivers actionable insights from thepillarsand enables the effective implementation ofglobal initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (science, health care, technology/informatics, business management) and greater than or equal to 10 years of pharmaceutical experience, with direct people management anddemonstratedleadership success in a pharmaceutical or biotech company. 5 7 years of pharmaceutical management experiencerequired, withdemonstratedunderstanding of the complexities and success of working in the global pharmaceutical environment.

  • Higher degree or certifications (e.g.MS., MBA, LSS,Masters in Project Management, PMP) preferred

  • Strong business acumenand learning agility; ability toleveragebusiness principles to supportV&E, MHIand enterprise initiatives

  • Proven leadership skills to lead and influence cross-functional matrix teams

  • Strong communicator and ability to influence across the enterprise

  • Demonstrated ability todeliver results, effectively manage teams,partner with cross-functional colleagues, build strong relationships and serve as a role-model for leadership behaviors

  • Experience working with a global mindset to deliver on business priorities and objectives

  • Commitment to building and developing team members and deliver effective coaching and feedback
