KBR is seeking a GEOINT Operations System Engineer to support a very dynamic space program in Chantilly, VA. In this position, you will support acquiring and deploying the next generation of space assets including first of a kind satellite constellation with ground-breaking technology. This rewarding and mission focused position will enable you to have a positive impact on our nations capabilities, while working with an incredibly strong team that is focused on mission success.

The GEOINT Operations Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting satellite operations from tasking to product dissemination for a proliferated constellation of imagery satellites. This position requires an understanding of operations with prior experience in satellite operations. Must have excellent problem solving skills, creativity and a willingness and to go the extra mile to resolve issues in a dynamic fast paced Program Office. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operations planning and execution support
  • Develop and coordinate operations transition plans for large constellations
  • Provides support to anomaly resolution
  • Support development and evaluation of CONOPS for GEOINT missions
  • Interface with mission users, operators, and analysts to translate operational needs into system requirements
  • Assess system performance from an operational and mission-effectiveness perspective
  • Support exercises, demonstrations, and operational evaluations
  • Ability to provide on-call support
  • Provide proactive support to the Government customer and tasks in an integrated office environment
  • Participate in full lifecycle acquisition and SE activities from pre-acquisition through launch and on-orbit checkout
  • Author, review, and coordinate documents, briefings and data to aid the Government in communications and decision-making
  • Provide support for dissemination of imagery products

Required Qualifications:

  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI security clearance with current Polygraph
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics, and 8+ years experience
    • Preferred: Masters or PhD in a relevant technical field
  • Space Systems: Experience with space systems design, development, and operations to include tasking, metrics collecting, and image dissemination
  • IC Community: Experience with the Intelligence Community (IC) and/or the Department of Defense
  • Payloads: Experience with IC architectures, spacecraft, and payloads
  • Lead: Ability to lead and be the primary point of contact for one or more projects
  • Skills: Effective interpersonal skills (across multiple groups, offices, and organizations) and strong customer engagement skills
  • Communication: Ability to communicate complex technical subjects to a diverse audience of senior decision makers with varying levels of technical expertise in written and oral formats
  • Environment: Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, integrated team environment
