Title:
Automated Material Handling Equipment (AMHE) Mechanic Temporary Assignment
KBR is seeking an Automated Material Handling Equipment (AMHE) Mechanic in Danville, KY. This temporary, 90-day assignment plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials in support of operational and production needs.
Roles and Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance on automated material handling systems, including conveyors, sortation systems, AS/RS, robotic arms, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs)
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related equipment issues
Replace worn or defective parts, lubricate components, and ensure optimal system performance
Monitor system operations to identify irregularities, performance degradation, or potential failures
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve faults efficiently
Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new or existing automated equipment
Calibrate systems to manufacturer specifications and operational requirements
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, and company standards
Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage
Participate in safety audits and respond promptly to system-related hazards or incidents
Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and IT teams to resolve issues
Provide feedback on equipment reliability and recommend improvements to enhance system performance
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with hands-on industrial maintenance experience
Experience performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting automated material handling systems
Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and basic software-related issues
Familiarity with conveyors, sortation systems, robotics, and AGVs
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and electrical drawings
Experience using diagnostic tools and maintenance software
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, industrial environment
Commitment to safety and compliance with established procedures
Ability to work onsite and support 1st shift operations
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field
Experience with robotic palletizers, carousels, and pick-and-place robots
Knowledge of automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS)
Hands-on experience with AGVs and advanced robotic systems
Proficiency with diagnostic and monitoring software tools
