Job Title: Junior System Administrator

Job Summary:

In this role, youll use your expertise as a Computer System Analyst to maintain 24/7/365 readiness in support of USSF operations and specialized missions.

KBR was selected to support the US Space Force/Air Force Research Laboratorys ASTRO (Advanced Space Technology Research and Optimization) contract to provide mission equipment operations, maintenance, and upgrades to the USSFs AMOS site in Maui, Hawaii. The AMOS site plays a vital role in national security by monitoring man-made objects in space and continuously developing next-generation capabilities to keep pace with the expanding space domain. This presents an incredible opportunity to push the boundaries of space and telescope technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Provides Network, Storage, Windows/Linux Server Support, Database and Web Server Administration Video Monitoring Systems, and resolving helpdesk tickets beyond the ability of KBRs Junior System Administrators.
• Assist users with troubleshooting/correction of issues on mission IT systems
• Support test activities, technical troubleshooting, and anomaly resolution on mission IT systems to maintain 24/7/365 mission readiness and/or resolve issues quickly to minimize mission impacts
• Perform systems administration of desktops, databases, and server systems connected to developmental networks
• Provide desktop system management involving account monitoring, security, operating system (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions on mission-support IT equipment
• As needed, assist SW developers with establishing and troubleshooting DevSecOps environments to support SW development and test prior to deployment on mission equipment/networks

Qualifications:

• Active Secret clearance required
• Bachelors degree in related field; or requires an equivalent combination of related training and experience
• Certifications: Minimum IAT Level 1, hardware/software specific training/certifications
• Experience with and understanding of NIST 800 series

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with an understanding of ICD 503
• Military / DOD experience
• Clearable to TS/SCI

Work Environment:

• Location:Hybrid

KBR supports work from home when compatible with meeting contract requirements. AMOS is a dynamic work environment and this contract supports routine operations of and maintenance of mission equipment, as well as the need to respond to real-world events. To the extent possible, schedules are forecasted in advance, but upgrades, maintenance or significant tests require personnel to be present in the telescope facilities on Haleakala or Governments Kihei office.

Compensation:

• For Hawaii only, the salary range for this position is approximately $77,200 - $97,822. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Other Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
