<span style="font-family: Arial"><h2 style="text-align: center"><font size="3">Communications Coordinator </font></h2><h2 style="text-align: center"><font size="3">Office of Marketing &amp; Communications<br>College of Liberal Arts &amp; Sciences </font></h2><p style="text-align: center"><strong><font size="3">University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign</font></strong></p><br><h4>Job Summary</h4>The communications coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing strategic communications plans that address key stakeholders of the Illinois Global Institute and Department of Gender and Women's Studies, including current students, faculty, staff, and alumni. <h4>Duties &amp; Responsibilities</h4><p><strong>Content Creation</strong></p><ul><li>Generate ideas for news and feature stories that support the units' priorities and college's brand. </li><li>Write accurate, engaging news and feature stories for print and digital channels. </li><li>Create and update website content that is accurate, concise, on-brand, and audience-focused.</li><li>Create and edit content for unit communications channels, such as print or digital newsletters and social media.</li><li>Pitch story ideas to the college and university communications teams. </li><li>Apply the college's brand and style guidelines to all content. </li><li>Update and manage statistics and content related to the units' history, accomplishments, and pride points.</li></ul><p><strong>Planning and Evaluation</strong></p><ul><li>Work closely with the Director of Communications to develop and implement a strategic communications plans to address the units' goals, priorities, and key audiences.&nbsp; </li><li>Create project briefs and use other collaboration tools to define the goals and scope of projects and ensure that effective deliverables are produced.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Analyze and report on performance of communications tactics.</li></ul><p><strong>Collaboration and Communication </strong></p><ul><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with the units' leadership, staff, and faculty.&nbsp; </li><li>Work collaboratively with marketing and communications colleagues.&nbsp;</li><li> Work within and contribute to college project management systems.&nbsp; </li><li>Serve as a liaison between unit stakeholders and the college marketing and communications team.</li></ul><p><strong>Marketing </strong></p><ul><li>Oversee timely review of marketing messages by unit stakeholders and provide feedback on marketing projects as requested.&nbsp; </li><li>Identify students with compelling stories that the college MarCom team can feature in blog posts, videos, and social media content that align with student recruitment goals.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Share with the college any marketing assets created by the units that could support recruitment efforts.&nbsp; </li><li>Ensure student recruitment messaging developed within the units aligns with the college’s marketing strategy, brand standards, and campaigns by collaborating closely with the marketing team.</li></ul><h4>Required Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.</li><li>One (1) year (12 months) of professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a related professional area.</li></ul><h4>Preferred Qualifications</h4><ul><li>Ability to communicate effectively with others.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to interact with a broad array of internal and external constituents.</li><li>Commitment to creating an inclusive environment.</li><li>Ability to think creatively and collaboratively.</li><li>Strong organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to be self-motivated, work independently, and prioritize tasks.</li><li>Strong decision-making skills and judgment.</li><li>Ability to work under tight deadlines while balancing multiple projects.</li><li>Ability to maintain high standards of integrity and accuracy while presenting information in an engaging and informative way.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to write content, such as news and feature stories, press releases, or advertising or marketing copy.</li></ul><h4>Appointment Information</h4><p>This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5004 - Marketing Associate position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the deadline date.&nbsp; The budgeted salary range fro this position is $50-59,000.We strive to provide a competitive salary, considering factors such as available market data, internal equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements, and budget constraints.
