The Illinois Fire Service Institute (IFSI) is seeking a dedicatedcorporate relations person to join our team. As the statutory fire academy forthe State of Illinois, IFSI trains thousands of firefighters across the stateand beyond—delivering hands-on education through a unique blend of campus,online, and regional training programs. PositionSummary This Corporate Relationsposition will play a key role in securing corporate support for IFSI throughdonations, sponsorships, gifts-in-kind, and corporate partnerships. Thisposition manages a portfolio of existing relationships while cultivating new corporateand fire service affiliates. The role includes developing and executingstrategic fundraising initiatives, managing corporate partnerships, andsupporting community engagement activities to advance IFSI's mission.Duties and ResponsibilitiesCorporate Relations &Development<ul><li>Develop and implementcultivation and solicitation strategies for corporate prospects, includingvisits, presentations, and proposal submissions.</li><li>Build and execute a long-term corporaterelations strategy that increases revenue in support of IFSI’s mission.</li><li>Identify, research, and manage a portfolioof corporate donors and prospects.</li><li>Strengthen relationships with corporateleaders, fire service affiliates, and industry partners to raise visibility andsupport for IFSI.</li><li>Represent IFSI at corporate meetings,national fire service trade shows, and industry events.</li><li>Collaborate with IFSIleadership, business, and communications teams to align fundraising strategieswith organizational goals.</li><li>Connect IFSI firefighting subject matterexperts with corporate partners to facilitate in depth talks related totraining, outreach, and industry needs.</li><li>Develop budgets, monitorfundraising outcomes, and provide regular reports to leadership.</li><li>Manage corporate affiliate programs.</li><li>Maintainaccurate donor and prospect records while handling sensitive information withdiscretion.</li></ul>Community Engagement<ul><li>Support IFSI’s participationin community and professional events to strengthen partnerships and visibility.</li><li>Work closely with Strategic Communicationsand Marketing on outreach efforts.</li></ul>QualificationsMinimum Qualifications<ol><li>Bachelor’s degree.</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in corporatefundraising, sponsorships, grants, or gifts-in-kind.</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office and donor databases.</li><li>Strong communication, relationship-building, andorganizational skills.</li></ol>Preferred Qualifications<ol><li>Fire service experience, withknowledge of equipment needs, usage, and industry manufacturers.</li><li>Knowledge of fire service mission, equipment, and industryaffiliates.</li><li>Experience in firefighting and technical rescue trainingprograms.</li></ol>Knowledge, Skills andAbilities<ol><li>Strong communicationskills, with the ability to convey complex information to a wide range ofaudiences.</li><li>Skilled in fundraisingstrategy, donor cultivation, and stewardship.</li><li>Ability to manage multipleprojects, meet deadlines, and work independently or in a team.</li><li>Strong analytical, creative,and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to beself-motivating and discipline to regularly set and achieve work goals.</li><li>Ability to work evenings andweekends as needed.</li><li>Ability to work positively,professionally, and have a collaborative attitude with excellent customerservice.</li><li>Ability to work in an activetraining environment to facilitate partner relationships. </li></ol>Appointment InformationThis is a 100% full-time Academic Professional position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after June 15, 2026.
