Renewal of the position is possible, contingent on strong enrollments, strong performance reviews, and availability of funding.</span></font></p><p><font size="2" style="font-family: Arial"><b><span style="line-height: 115%">Duties and Responsibilities</span></b><span style="line-height: 115%"><br> The successful candidate will teach six courses (three separate preps) in support of the Department’s Minor in Criminology, Law and Society: SOC 275 Criminology; SOC 310 Sociology of Deviance; SOC 479 Law and Society. Responsibilities include preparing and presenting instructional content for in-person courses in Criminology, Law and Society.<span> </span>Additional duties include: monitoring and mentoring teaching assistants, holding office hours to meet with students outside of class time, writing and grading examinations, and assigning grades, and departmental service.<span> <br><br></span></span></font></p><p><font size="2" style="font-family: Arial"><b><span style="line-height: 115%">QUALIFICATIONS</span></b></font></p><p><font size="2" style="font-family: Arial"><span style="line-height: 115%">Required: Ph.D. in Sociology, or Ph.D. in related areas, evidence of research productivity and a year of teaching experience . Additional expertise in in Law and Society, Criminology or Deviance is preferred.</span></font></p><p><font size="2" style="font-family: Arial"><b><span style="line-height: 115%"><br>SALARY AND APPOINTMENT INFORMATION</span></b></font></p><p><font size="2" style="font-family: Arial"><span style="line-height: 115%">This is a full-time, 9-month appointment, non-tenure track position, with possible renewable for one year, subject to enrollments, funding, and positive performance evaluations</span></font></p><p><font size="2" style="font-family: Arial"><span style="line-height: 115%">Target start date is August 16, 2026.<span> </span>The budgeted salary range for the position is $65,000 to $70,000.<span> </span>This position is not eligible for any type of sponsorship work authorization.
