Job Description
The Veldman Family Psychology Clinic, in partnership with Associated Pediatricians, is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and motivated Pediatric Behavioral Health Coordinator to support a grant-funded initiative focused on child trauma prevention and intervention in Northwest Indiana.

This position plays a key role in delivering trauma-informed clinical services, supporting pediatric providers, and contributing to ongoing research and program evaluation efforts. The selected candidate will join a team of coordinators and work closely with children and families in pediatric clinical settings, while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to improve behavioral health outcomes.

This position is ideal for an individual seeking specialized, evidence-based clinical training and experience with children and families in pediatric healthcare and community settings. Individual and group supervision will be provided for individuals accruing hours toward clinical licensure.  

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Activities
  • Oversee and manage trauma screening processes during pediatric clinic visits
  • Provide training workshops and consultation to pediatric providers and clinic staff
  • Deliver psychoeducation and brief, trauma-informed interventions to children and families
  • Facilitate parent and adolescent intervention groups
  • Provide consultation to pediatric providers on trauma-informed care practices
  • Develop systems to support referral follow-up and communication with providers
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of clinical and protected health information
  • Participate in regular meetings, supervision, and training activities

Research & Program Support
  • Develop psychoeducational materials for print and digital dissemination
  • Participate in weekly and monthly meetings
  • Collaborate with project leadership and staff to implement project goals and troubleshoot challenges
  • Support program evaluation efforts, including data collection and analysis
  • Implement quality control and intervention fidelity procedures
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and research protocols
  • Support research development activities
  • Contribute to research papers, reports, and presentations
  • Maintain organized documentation and records

This is a two-year, limited-term position. Contingent on funding, the position may be extended.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or related field (required)
  • Master's degree in a related field (preferred)
  • Clinical licensure in Indiana (preferred); license-eligible candidates and candidates seeking to accrue hours toward licensure will be considered
  • Clinical experience working with children and families (required)
  • Experience working with trauma-exposed youth (preferred)
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices (preferred)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite

Additional Information
Application Deadline: May 10, 2026.

Hiring Pay Range: Up to $48,000 annually.

Term & Location: This is a grant-funded two-year limited term position supporting a project based in two pediatric clinics located in Porter County. The individual in this role will be embedded on-site within the clinics as their primary work location, with occasional meetings on campus, typically no more than once per month.
