Job SummaryThe Biology Department at the University of Michigan-Flint is looking for students to serve as Lab Assistants for Gross Anatomy open lab sessions. Gross Anatomy Open Lab Assistants are responsible for monitoring the lab and ensuring the safety of students and cadavers during open lab review times. Dissections are not allowed. Additionally, they help maintain the integrity of the cadavers and cleanliness of the Gross Anatomy Lab. Gross Anatomy Open Lab Assistants will work weekly schedules based on the open lab schedule, which is determined by respective programs each semester. The courses associated with this position are BIO 510, BIO 511, and BIO 634. Each position is filled on a per semester basis. The Gross Anatomy Lab Assistant reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and schedules for this position will be determined upon hire. Responsibilities*The primary responsibility of the Gross Anatomy Open Lab Assistant is to oversee and monitor the Gross Anatomy lab while students utilize the cadavers and/or models to review their lab course content. This includes recording attendance for the open lab session, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of cadaver specimens, and ensuring that models and equipment are stored appropriately. This position does not participate in any tutoring or instructional activities. In addition, all Gross Anatomy Open Lab Assistants are expected to:
