Job Summary: We are currently seeking skilled and team-oriented applicants for the following position: Associate Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs. The Associate Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs (AVP-FA) provides strategic leadership for faculty success through the design, implementation, and assessment of policies, programs, and systems that support faculty across the full career cycle. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and forward-thinking leader to help shape the faculty experience at EWU and to strengthen the systems, relationships, and practices that support faculty excellence. This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs related to faculty recruitment, development, evaluation, retention, tenure, and promotion. The AVP-FA also provides strategic leadership for the professional growth of department chairs, supporting their development as academic leaders and managers across the full range of their responsibilities. The AVP-FA will collaborate across the Provosts Office, with campus partners, and with academic departments and administrative units to ensure that faculty development efforts support faculty success, advance EWUs Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan, and promote compliance with university policies and regulations. Reporting to the Provost, this position provides university-wide leadership for faculty affairs, faculty development, and faculty personnel processes. The position supervises the Faculty Commons and related staff and serves as the primary liaison among Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Faculty Organization, UFE, and academic units on faculty-related matters. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful university-wide impact by supporting faculty and chairs, fostering a strong academic culture, and helping advance the institutions strategic priorities.
