Registered Nurse Peds Hem/Oncology Clinic part time Job Requirements **Job Title:** Clinical Nurse II Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Ambulatory Clinic **Job Type:** Part Time **Position Overview:** We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Ambulatory Clinic team at University of Marlyand Medical Center Downtown Campus. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients ages 0 through 21 years of age, undergoing treatment for hematologic and oncologic conditions in an outpatient setting. This role requires clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients with hematologic and oncologic diagnoses in an ambulatory clinic setting. - Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and other prescribed treatments safely and effectively, adhering to established protocols. - Monitor patient responses to treatment, assess for side effects or complications, and intervene appropriately. - Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment plans, medication administration, and symptom management. - Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and patient progress in the electronic medical record. - Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards and clinic policies. - Provide emotional support and advocacy for patients and families navigating complex treatment journeys. **Qualifications:** - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state Maryland. - Minimum of 1 years of nursing experience, preferably in pediatric hematology/oncology or a related specialty. - Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred. - Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. - Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary ambulatory care environment. **Work Schedule:** - Day shift. 2-3 shifts a week. 8 hour shifts, with flexibility to meet clinic needs.
