TheGlobal Research, Informatics & Platform Solutions teamwithin the Information Research (IR) Divisionworks with internal clients to providedata management and decision support tools tooptimizethe efficiency and efficacy of research and developmentat AbbVie.As a member of the ABA Data Science team, theSeniorData Scientist II will support projects in Precision Medicine,OncologyEarly Discovery, Allergan, and Omics research. This role conceives, designs, and implements innovative solutions for scientific and business challenges through the integration, visualization, and analysis of datasets.This roleis responsible foridentifying,developing& optimizingnew methods,algorithmsand technologies togain insights and improve productivity in multiple business areas.This is a cross-functional role, working withdiscovery scientists, technology stakeholdersin Information Research andBusiness Platformspartnersto optimize data capture, analysis, and decision-making.We are looking for innovators who are passionate about the next generation of intelligent automation and agentic AI. KeyResponsibilities

  • Communicate abilityto communicate with scientific individuals fromDiscoveryteamstounderstand existing workflowsand data flow& gather requirements

  • Collaborative Design understand theclientsneeds,proposesolutions,anddevelopappropriatesolutions

  • Build Conceive, design, and implement technology solutions that integrate, visualize, and analyze complex multi-platform data, including genomics, biomarkers,&clinical data.

  • Integrate understandthe value incapturingdata properly,and integrating data sets

  • Support provide solutions to performance-related issues and work with downstream systems to support data driven demands

  • Technical Proficiency-Demonstratehighproficiencyin technologies for data storage, transfer, integration, visualization, and advanced analytics

  • Adaptability ability to work on multiple, sometimesvery different, projects at one time

  • Breadth as atalented and motivatedSenior Data Scientist II,contributeindependentlyto a wide variety ofprojectsrelated to enhancing drugdiscovery & development


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 years experience; Master's Degree with 6 years experience; PhD with 2 years experience
  • Working knowledge ofdrugdiscoveryand development process
  • Dedicated team player who caninterface withstakeholders from a variety of internal IT disciplines (DBAs, architects, developers, etc.) and external customers (discoveryscientists,therapeutic area scientists, pathologists, etc.)
  • Strong programmingproficiencyin Python (andpossibly othermodern languages) with a focus on software engineering best practices, modular code, and robust deployment pipelines and strongfamiliarity with data visualization and pipelining tools such as Spotfire, or equivalent
  • Experience with ML Ops, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and working with production environments (Docker, cloud platforms like AWS/Cloudera)
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and work within timelines
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, including documenting and presenting technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders:outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • A self-motivated learner and thinker with a hands-on approachwho wants to harness the power ofclaude

Preferred:

  • Background in life sciences,biology, or equivalent,anddemonstratedtechnicalproficiencyinthepharmaceutical industry
  • Experienceworking with data from:clinical trials, Biomarkers,andomics data
  • Familiaritywith frameworks for agent-based modeling or multi-agent systems (e.g., OpenAI GPTs,LangChain,AutoGPT, or similar agent frameworks)
  • Ability to architect andoptimizeagent workflows and design agentic processes to solve business or scientific challenges
  • Familiarity with modern data science and AI techniques, especially as they pertain to autonomous or semi-autonomous systems
