The Charge Nurse position is an experienced professional who demonstrates clinical leadership and interpersonal skill proficiency. The Charge Nurse facilitates and supports the clinical and operational needs of individual ambulatory care areas in partnership with clinic leaders.

This is an opportunity for an experienced pediatric nurse to step into arespected leadership role, support a highly collaborative team, and help drive excellence across a broad spectrum of pediatric primary and specialty care services.This is afull-time,onsite position working Monday through Friday, offering a stable schedule whileprovidingthe opportunity to lead within a highly specialized pediatric ambulatory setting.

The Role

The Outpatient Charge Nurse RN provides day-to-day leadership and coordination for pediatric outpatient clinic operations. Working closely with nurses, providers, support staff, patients, and families, you will help ensure clinics run efficiently whilemaintainingthe highest standards of safety, service, and clinical excellence.

This role supports pediatric patients ranging from newborns through young adults and provides exposure to a diverse mix of specialty services includingGeneral Pediatrics, ENT, Pulmonary, Cardiology, Allergy, Endocrine and Diabetes, Complex Care, Adult Congenital Care, and Cystic Fibrosis programs. The pace is dynamic, the work is meaningful, and the impact is visible every day.

In an average day, you will:

  • Provide frontline nursing leadershipfor daily pediatric outpatient clinic operations.

  • Coordinateworkflowand resources to supportsmooth-running clinics and exceptional patient experiences.

  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing and support staff.

  • Support care delivery across bothwell-child and sick-child visitsin addition to multiple specialty clinics.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient patient flow and effective communication.

  • Promote a culture ofsafety, accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.

  • Help resolve operational challenges whilemaintainingfocus on patient, family, and staff needs.

  • Build strong working relationships across teams and help foster an environment of collaboration and trust.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or currently enrolled in an accredited nursing BSN/MSN program that will be completed within 5 years of hire.

Experience: RN Clinician 2 or higher who has been employed on the unit for 6 months or has had previous Charge Nurse experience from another department/organization.

Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

The pay range for this role is $43.32 - $57.34 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
