Cloud Application Architect (Node.js and React.js) - Remote

The Cloud Application Architect will architect the modernization of enterprise-class software applications. They will work in coordination with Agile development teams and other stakeholders to architect, design, build, migrate, expand, automate, and sustain a large, multi-tenant cloud platform/enterprise. The Cloud Application Architect will leverage their experience in cloud software architecture to design and direct the development of this exciting new solution. GDIT is your place -- come make it your own.MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACTAs a Cloud Application Architect, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of our federal customers. You will play a crucial role via the following:Designs, architects, deploys, and maintains cloud solutionsMaintains the integrity and security of systemsSupports and develops automationDevelops in languages such as Bash, Python, Node.js, and React.jsMaintains/enhances knowledge of AWS cloud services (microservices)Collaborate with teams of UI/UX designers, cloud engineers, architects, and DevOps teams deploying and operating workloads using AWS services (such as, but not limited to: Lambda, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, API Gateway, VPC, IAM)Composes and maintains standard operating procedures and work instructions, knowledge articles, et al. This role will require you to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and will require you to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility. This investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications. WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Cloud Application Architect must have: Education:Training, Certificate, or Degree requiredBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering or relevant experience preferredExperience: 10+ years of related experience with AWS cloud computing Required Skills:Development experience in the following languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, Python, Node.js, and React.jsExperience building and maintaining React.js front-end applicationsExpertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing one of the following: Terraform and/or CloudFormationUnderstanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven architectureDesigned and implemented Lambda services / microservices in a multi-tenant environmentDesigned and implemented CI/CD tools (such as, but not limited to, GitLab)Expert knowledge of Linux OS (must at least have exposure to kernel-level operations)Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers) to deliver high-quality solutions.Experience with application using serverless architecture and/or containerizationExtensive SDLC experienceExcellent communication skills with demonstrated experience delivering presentations to diverse audiences at various levels of an organizationPrior experience as a Team Lead and/or Manager Preferred Certification(s): AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate -or- Professional are preferred Security Clearance Level: Must be able to pass a background check to obtain a position of Public Trust.
